about.
Airplane Mode is a concept travel kit for Deviant Skincare, designed to extend the brand’s inclusive and ingredient-driven values into the travel space. Created for frequent flyers, the kit responds to the need for compact, durable, and gift-worthy skincare that balances sustainability with a premium experience. The name Airplane Mode links both to the act of traveling and to the idea of disconnecting from routine, encouraging a shift of focus toward personal care while in transit.
process.
The design mapped three skincare steps to the journey of a flight:
Takeoff – Enzymatic Cleansing Oil
Flying – Exfoliating Tonic
Landing – Relaxing Facial Oil
A custom pictogram system was developed to represent each stage, doubling as intuitive product navigation. Typography combined Garamond and ITC Serif Gothic for a timeless yet contemporary tone, while a neutral color palette emphasized universality. Packaging choices reinforced the sustainable focus: cylindrical Miron glass bottles for product preservation, recyclable cartons for each unit, and a rigid cardboard box to contain the full set.
result.
What emerged was a travel kit that balanced practicality with a sense of ritual. From the cylindrical bottles that could withstand transit, to the intuitive icons guiding each step of the routine, the packaging offered travelers an experience that was both effortless and memorable. Its clarity and durability were matched by a sustainable material choice, ensuring the concept aligned with Deviant Skincare’s values.
